The Khargooshi Caravanserai (also Qal’eh Khargooshi Caravanserai ) is a caravanserai built during Safavid dynasty nearby the Gavkhouni swamp , in Yazd province , Iran .
The caravanserai consists of corridors (persian : sofeh), rooms, stables and a wall on the roof with 2 meters wide. The caravanserai has two floors and the second floor is the dais. There are 18 corridors (sofeh) inside the caravanserai . Larger corridor and another corridor in the southern part have altar .
four entries can be seen to enter the stables In the four corners of caravanserai , and a water storage is in the middle of caravanserai . Brick decorations over the entrance and the stone inscription by the Ali Reza Abbasi (famous calligrapher in Safavid era) can be seen as decorations of the monument . The inscription is mounted on the 15 green stones tha have a length of 8 meters and a width of 60 centimeters on three sides of the entrance.
